Our most popular exterior timber paint colours

Sometimes a pop of colour is all you need to bring life back to your exterior space. Our Timbercolour Deck & Exterior Paint is paint made for timber. It is tough and durable, and is dirt, mould, and stain-resistant, helping you renew your outdoor timber with ease. Perfect for projects large and small - from refreshing the exterior of your entire home to adding interest with a colourful planter box.

The hardest part is choosing your favourite exterior timber paint shade from our expansive colour range. Timbercolour can be tinted to over 1,000 shades, including popular Colorbond® colours. Our exterior timber paint is also now available in pre-tinted colours to match Colorbond® Monument®, Colorbond® Woodland Grey® and Colorbond® Night Sky®.

Modern

Go-with-everything greys are at the heart of this palette. They contrast beautifully with the timber's natural look and create a bold look when applied alongside black. Simple but not bland, these timber and decking paints uplift window trims and built-in timber seating.

Pair Timbercolour Deck & Exterior Paint in Colorbond® Dover White® and Steel Frame with our Deck & Exterior Stain in Hunter Grey for a fresh look.

Timeless

Inviting without feeling too cosy, the beiges and taupes in this palette get better with age. Update your timber window planter boxes with a fresh coat of exterior timber paint, or apply it to your entire home’s exterior timber for a warm and welcoming look.

Create a look you’ll love for many years to come with our Timbercolour Deck & Exterior Paint in River Cottage and Pale Blanca, contrasted with Aquadeck in Jarrah.

Coastal

The shades in this palette are inspired by summer days at the beach and salty sea breezes. These light shades are perfect for timber screens – to create your own enclosed outdoor entertaining area or to hide things you’d rather not see, such as bins and pool pumps.

Make a statement with a monochromatic look and coat all of your exterior timber in our Timbercolour Deck & Exterior Paint in Graceful Swan.

Heritage

A fresh take on rustic charm and Australiana, this colour palette is earthy and homely. The light and bright shades are ideal for trims, while rich timber paint colours add interest to timber doors and railings.

Not sure where to start? Use Timbercolour Deck & Exterior Paint in Colorbond Dover White contrasted with Colorbond Wallaby, and finish the transformation with our Deck & Exterior Stain in Merbau.

Customise your colour

From our range of base shades, you can tint to over 1,000 colours, including Colorbond® paints, to create your ideal exterior timber and decking paint colour. The options are endless!

How to apply Cabot's Timbercolour Deck & Exterior Paint

Once you've selected your favourite timber and decking paint colours, here's how to easily apply this self-priming acrylic paint.

  1. Prepare your surface appropriately, keeping in mind it is a different process for new timber, weathered timber, and brick, masonry, fibro, or fibre cement board. Find the prep steps for your surface here.
  2. Stir thoroughly with a broad flat paddle before and during use. Apply by brush, roller or spray. When spraying, always backbrush immediately after each section is coated, to ensure a uniform finish.
  3. Apply two generous coats of Cabot’s Timbercolour Deck & Exterior Paint. Take particular care to seal the end grain.

NOTE: Temperature must be above 10°C during application and drying time. Do not apply if rain is expected during the drying period.

Like many simple outdoor projects, once you start, you'll soon feel motivated to plan more!
